World Community Grid

World Community Grid gives you the chance to help science by using the spare computing power of your home computer. Simply register and download their software to get started.

Previous projects include Online network for solar research a joint project between Harvard and IBM. Over two years they crammed in the equivalent of over 2,000 years of computing using the spare power of participants home computers. You can read about this project on the BBC website.

Current projects include research in to Dengue Fever, cancer, aids and rice production. The activity is easy to join and you can choose which projects to join in.
